Steven Wong Siew Por

Founder & Lead Guide

Steven Wong's interest in herpetofauna started when he was a child watching Steve Irwin's TV programme Crocodile Hunter. His dad was an avid 4-wheeled drive enthusiast and brough young Steven camping in Semenyih and other locations since he was 6 years old.

Steven pursued and undergraduate degree in Environmental Management in Monash University Sunway. He learnt how to look for herpetofauna while in uni, and has been herping since 2010.

After graduation, Steven work in the environmental consultancy field for three years, before switching to guiding 2019 by joining his former company, Nature Inspired. Steven has guided countless herping trips and has seen 118 out of 148 land snakes in Peninsula Malaysia — he has 25 very rare lifers yet to be seen in Peninsula Malaysia.

Mrs. Alison Wong is the co-founder Nocturnal Ventures. She is in charge of administrative tasks that keep Nocturnal Ventures running.

Chan Yik Khan

Mr. Chan Yik Khan has been fascinated by herpetofauna as a child, often finding himself looking for toads in his backyard as a form of entertainment, and this habit hasn't left him as an adult. Having been conducting night walks for the past few years, Yik Khan is now more than happy to show you the diversity of herpetofauna in the Malaysian tropical jungle
